comparing population: Canada’s 37m as percentage of USA’s 326m

I am trying to compare the population in Canada vs the population in the US using this info:
Canada has 37 million people, compared to 326 million in the US.
How can I state that as a percentage? if I devide 37 million by 326 million I get about 11%, but I don't know how to check that. Can someone tell me if I did this correctly? Thanks so much.

Yes, that's correct.

Note that 10% of 326 is 32.6, so it makes sense that 37 is about 11% (or 11.3%).

Another check is to calculate 11% of 326 million, which is 35.86 million, which is a little low because you rounded down.

So Canada's population is about 11% of the U.S.
