Dividing Polynomials

n5-18n4=3n3 divided by n3
Please help, ASAP! :!:

First, before dividing, let's recall that n != 0 -- 'n' cannot be zero.

Have you learned rules of exponents? a^m / a^r = a^(m-r)

That's about it.

n^5 - 18n^4 = 3n^3 divided by n^3

n^5/n^3 - 18n^4/n^3 = 3n^3/n^3

n^(5-3) - 18n^(4-3) = 3n^(3-3)

n^2 - 18n^1 = 3n^0

n^2 - 18n = 3(1)

n^2 - 18n = 3

Now what?

n^5-18n^4-3n^3 divided by n^3
divide as in 6th grade math

n^2 -18n -3
-----------------------
n^3 l n^5-18n^4-3n^3
n^5
---------------
-18n^4
-18n^4
----------------
-3n^3
-3n^3
--------------
0 remainder
