any help will b GREATLY appreciated
-4(2.5y + 8.7) = ( 1.4 - 9.2y)6

i had it simplified to
-10y + -34.8 = 8.4 - 56.2y is that rite?

Your multiplication is weak.
-4*8 is not -34.8
-9.2*6 is not -56.2

I'm guessing there is a typo, because you have "8.", with nothing following the decimal point. and you give the product of this number with -4 as being -34.8. Also, check your multiplication of 6 and 9.2.

Once you get things multiplied out correctly, add and subtract to both sides to get the y-terms together on one side and the numbers together on the other side. Then divide through by whatever is multiplied on the y.
