I have tried quite a few ways to solve this problem and still can't get the right answer.

2+__1___
3+__1__
1+__1__
5+1/4

The right answer is 217/96. Can someone just show me the process to solve it?

Start with the bottomost fraction and work your way up

5 + 1/4 = 21/4

Now we have 1 + 1/(21/4) = 1 +4/21 = 25/21

3 + 1/(25/21) = 3 + 21/25 = 96/25

and finally 2 + 1/(96/25) = 2 + 25/96 = 217/96
