I need help with this problem

-75x-0.9=-5.7x+4.5

gather the unknows on one side and the knowns to the other side...

-75x +5.7x = 4.5 +0.9

now add values together and the solve for x.....

I am a algebra beginner, I am having problems

I add the but I am not sure what to do next

-75x +5.7x = 4.5 +0.9
-69.3x = 5.4

x= 5.4/(-69.3)

and solve..........

thanks

I posted the wrong problem:
-7.5x-0.9=5.7x+4.5
=1.8 =5.4
=x=5.4/-1.8x
=x=0.3
is that correct!

NO! And WHO showed you how to solve?
If it's a teacher, he/she should be fired!

Your equation:
-7.5x - 0.9 = 5.7x + 4.5

Next time you solve one of these, try to show a bit THIS WAY:

-7.5x - 5.7x = 4.5 + 0.9

-13.2x = 5.4

x = 5.4 / -13.2

x = -.9 / 2.2 (or -9 / 22)

You could also go this way (same thing, but clearer):
-7.5x - 0.9 = 5.7x + 4.5
multiply by 10:
57x + 45 = -75x - 9

57x + 75x = -9 - 45

132x = -54

x = -54 / 132 = -9 / 22

thank you. very much. No a teacher didnot show me how to slove. I am a distance learner. I am attending Kaplan University online.

just get all you x s on one side and the other numbers on the other side then divide to get your answer.
