In the order of operations if you have a problem like:

5*6-25/5-2


Do you do the multiplication on division first?
 
Multiplication and division have the same priority, so do them, and then do the subtractions.

It dosent matter which one you do first as long as it is * or / then do + or -. if the problem has ( ) in it you do what is in those first even if it is - or +

In this problem, 5*6-25/5-2, that is close enough. The convention is clear, however. Do it left to right. It makes a big difference with this one, 5*6/25*5/2
 
Remove "confusion" with succulent spacing:
5*6-25/5-2 : 5*6 - 25/5 - 2
