again, more problems, not sure how to figure them:

this one is: which one is greater and why: 0.15-3/4 0.25-0.33

this one is finding a fraction that is equivalent to: 0.416 (there is a line over the 6....how do you figure this one?

The numerator of a fraction is -1. If the denominator is replaced by 2,3,4,5......, are the resulting fractons getting smaller or larger? ( if you could explain why and how you figured, I would appreciate it :)

There is some doubt.
0.15-3/4 often (incorrectly) means
(0.15-3)/4 instead of (correctly) meaning
0.15-(3/4)
Don't be afraid to use more ()s than are necessary, just to make sure that even a clod like me can't get it wrong.
3/4 = 0.75
Now the first is
0.15-0.75
Do the subtraction. They are both negative so the one closer to zero is bigger.

The line over the 6 means it goes on forever. It says
0.41666666666666666...
(If the line were over the 16 it would say
.041616161616...)
You split it into
(1/100)(41 + .6666666) =
(1/100)(41+2/3) =
(1/100)(125/3) =
125/300
Simplify it

If you put them on a number line
(-1/2, -1/3, -1/4,...)
again they are all negative. Look at the previous problem.

Gene, I still don't understand the .0416 with the line above the 6........sorry but could you try again to explain :):)

The best I can do is more examples of the line above any or all of the decimal part meaning that part repeats forever.

.3 with a line over the 3 = .3333333333... = 3/9

.4 with a line over the 4 =.4444444 = 4/9

.25 with a line over the 25 = .25252525.... =25/99

.34 with a line over the 4 = .344444.. = .3+.1*(4/9)

.123 with a line over the 123 = .123123123123..... = 123/999
