need help with this problem having trouble?!?!

its 1 over a - d
Well, then you need BRACKETS, like this:
Solve c = 1 / (a-d) for d

1 / c = a - d
d = a - 1/c
d = (ac - 1) / c

Please note how Denis wrote it. Any time there is a line over or under something or PEMDAS doesn't give what you mean and you want to type it, you need () to show where it ends.
a+b/c+d = a+d+b/c not (a+b)/(c+d)
sqrt a+b = a^(1/2)+b not (a+b)^(1/2) = sqrt(a+b)
e^2x = x*e^2 not e^(2x)

That's probably 'cause you still think a-1/c = (a-1)/c but it doesn't
a-1/c =
ac/c-1/c =
(ac-1)/c

The tutor converted "a/1" to the common denominator of "c", and then combined the two fractions.

Eliz.
