Chris is 20 years old and Susan is 50 years old.
(a)What perecent of Susan's age is Chris?
(b)What perecent of Chris's age is Susan?

For A: I did 20/50=x/100, then cross multipled and got 40%
For B: 50/20=x/100, then cross multipled and got 250%

I have no idea if this is correct, so If I could get any help at all on this that would be great.

Hi, Emily,

You need to start a new topic for your question -- not use "post reply" to someone else's question.

Let x = the price paid to the publisher

Then (1 + .25)x represents the price of the book plus the 25%. So

(1.25)x = 56
