The room measures 12 ft. wide and 15 ft. long. The walls are 8 ft. high. There is a window that is 4 ft. high and 8 ft. wide, and a door that is 3 ft. wide and 7ft. tall. We wish to paint the walls but not the door or window

a)how many sq. ft. will we need to paint?

b)if 1 :? gal. of paint covers 225 square feet, how much paint will we need?

2 walls that are 15 ft x 8 ft
1 window that is 4 ft x 8 ft
1 door that is 3 ft x 7 ft

Calculate all the pieces, then do a little addition and subtraction.
