Solve the system:
3x - 4y = 6
2x - 6y = 3

I just can't get this! Please help. Thanks Josh.

What method are you supposed to be using to solve this?

How far have you gotten?

Thank you.

Eliz.

To check the solution to any "solving" problem, plug it back into the original exercise. In this case:

. . . . .3(24/13) - 4(-3/26) ?=? 6
. . . . .72/13 + 6/13 ?=? 6
. . . . .78/13 ?=? 6
. . . . .6 = 6

. . . . .2(24/13) - 6(-3/26) ?=? 3
. . . . .48/13 + 9/13 ?=? 3
. . . . .57/13 ?=? 3
. . . . .4.3846... ?=? 3

Since the solution doesn't work in the second equation, it would not appear to solve the system.

Please reply showing your steps. Thank you.

Eliz.
