another system question

I think I am mixing up signs

Solve the system for x:
x + y + z = 4
x + y - z = 2
x - y + z = 6


should it be 1 or -1 ?
 
I'm not getting either of those values for x.

Since you're solving for just one of the variables, are you using Cramer's Rule?
