could somebody tell me if I'm doing this right.

my problem is 3(a-3)=2(a+4)
+9 3a-9=2a+8 +9
3a=2a+17
3a-2a=2a-2a+17
1a=17
1a=17
1 =1

then you take 1 divided by1 & 1 divided by17 wich = 0.058

another one is 3(s+22)=4(s+12) could someone please help[/u]

You were doing okay until the last bit....

Where did "1 = 1" come from? You're supposed to be solving for "a="...?

If you have "1a = 17", why are you dividing by 17, since this would give you "a/17 = 1"? You want to get the variable by itself.
