I am in a Beginning algebra class and just had a baby on the 9th of February so I missed some class and boy was the professor right that if you miss one day you miss alot. If osmeone can explain to me how to do these 3 problems I will probably be able to figure them out on my own. I just need some direction and the book is absolutely no help at all. Thanks in advance.

Solve the problem:
if x varies inversly as V, and x=14 when V = 9, find X when V= 63.

Multiply, write the answer in lowest terms.
K^2+14K+45 K^2+ 8K
---------------- (multiply) ------------
k^2+17k+72 K^2- 3K-40 (The ^indicates an exponent, not sure how you express that here.)

Simplify the complex fraction

9m^8 n^2
_________
6m
_________
7m^5 n^6
_________
9n^2

I hope these make sense the way I put them. Any kind of explanation or help is appreciated. THANKS in advance.

first problem

since x varies inversely with v.
we can write the same as :
x=k/v where k is the constant of proportionality0

consider two cases:
x(1)=k/v(1) where (1) indicates first case.
given that x(1) is 14 and v(1) is 9
second case:
x(2)=k/v(2)
here v(2) is 63 then x(2)=??

divide the two cases
hence we get:
x(1)/x(2)=v(2)/v(1)
substitute the values and attain x(2)
