I have substituted these in for t and not coming out with anything that even looks close? :cry:

this is my work:
33=.068
2.56=.017
2.52=12
2.16=.95

Thank you for any help you can give me!

None of these "equations" is true. Thirty-three does not equal sixty-eight thousandths; 2.56 does not equal 0.017, and so forth.

Please reply showing your steps, not in the "working backwards from the answer options", but in solving the provided equation. When you reply, please clarify the equation. In particular, do you mean:

. . . . .\(\displaystyle \large{\frac{18t}{7}\,=\,2t\,-\,\frac{2}{3}}\)

...or:

. . . . .\(\displaystyle \large{\frac{18t}{7}\,=\,\frac{2t\,-\,2}{3}}\)

...or something else?

Thank you.

Eliz.

I meant that last one you typed....

I tried doing 18t*3 and 7*2t-2 and that doesnt work either?

You mean you tried cross-multiplying...? What did you get, after simplification?

Please list all of your steps. Thank you.

If you cross mutiplied as you said, you would have obtained 54t = 14 - 14t.

I am confident you can solve this to get one of the candidate solutons you offered.
