z - 7/6 = z + 3/7

Multiply through by 42 yielding 42x - 49 = 42z + 18

The 42z's cancel out and you are left with an inequality of -49 = 18

I dare say you may have copied the problem incorrectly.

If you copied the question directly from your book, as TchrWill demonstrated, the answer is "no solution".

I don't think i copied the problem incorrectly.... the / is actually the division so if you read z-7 over 6 = z + 3 over 7

Thats a horse of a different color.
If that is what yu meant, it should be writted as (z - 7)/6 = (z + 3)/7

Cross multiplying, 7z - 49 = 6z + 18 yielding z = 67.
