need some help,what does it meen when they give you 7+x=y-3, x=2y what is the value of x?

That means they want you to solve the system of equations for the value of the specified variable.

What method(s) have you learned for solving systems? For instance, since they've only asked for the value of one of the variables, Cramer's Rule could be used.

Thank you.

Eliz.

hope it helps

You have to plug 2y where x is and solve for y first

7+x=y-3
7+2y=y-3
2y=y-10
2y-y=-10
y=-10

7+x=-10-3
7+x=-13
x=-13-7
x=-20
