division of polynomials

This problem does not equal up to the answer

________

2x

1x+2
2x/2x+4
2
2x +4

so in other word my answer is either 1x+2 or 1x+1 but neither one works becaus I still have the x
 
I'm sorry, but I can't make heads or tails of what you've posted, nor can I tell what you are supposed to be doing.

if you are attempting to divide (2x<sup>2</sup> + 4) by (2x), it's really not much of a division "problem" and does not require long division ...

\(\displaystyle \frac{2x^2+4}{2x}=\)

\(\displaystyle \frac{2x^2}{2x}+\frac{4}{2x}=\)

\(\displaystyle x + \frac{2}{x} = \frac{x^2+2}{x}\)

the final result is just dividing every term in the original fraction by 2.
