I dont know how to solve something like this, can anyone help me? Not expecting the answer to the equation, i just want steps on how to do something like this..

7^-2 e^-3 (ce)^4

Without an "equals" sign, there is no equation to solve.

Are you perhaps supposed to "simplify"...? Or were you perhaps given values for the variables, and you're supposed to "evaluate"...?

Please reply with the full and exact text of the exercise, the complete instructions, and a clear listing of what you have tried so far.

Thank you.

Eliz.

The first step would be to figure out that it is NOT an equation. It would need one of these "=".

To simplify such an EXPRESSION, one may wish to rewrite without negative exponents. You need only about two rules for this one.

For x ≠ 0 and a > 0 and b > 0

\(\displaystyle \L\,x^{-a}\, =\,\frac{1}{x^{a}}\)

\(\displaystyle \L\frac{x^{a}}{x^{b}}\,=\,x^{a-b}\)
