Hmm isn't the "bus holds 30 students" irrelevant and is just to confuse you? If so then:

\(\displaystyle \L \; \frac{360}{900}\, \to\frac{36}{90}\, \to\,\frac{12}{30}\, \to\,\frac{6}{15}\, \to\,\frac{2}{5}\,= \,0.4\)

Whenever you you divide the numerator and then denominator and you get that number.........you alway move the decimal place 2 places to the right.

..................So:\(\displaystyle \L\;.4\,=\,40%\)
