Functions: f(x)= -3 + 4x ; f (-1/2).

I have several problems so if someone could help me with one then I hope I can figure out the rest.

The problem is f(x)= -3 + 4x ; f (-1/2). I have to say if the function is linear and then evaluate for the given x.
 
yes, the function is linear ...

f(-1/2) = -3 + 4(-1/2) = -3 - 2 = -5

... that's all folks
