The volume of a cube is given by V = s3. Find the length of a side of a cube if the Volume is 729 cm3.

I can't seem to wrap my brain around this, it has been too many years. Can somebody please help explain how I would get the answer to this.

thank you,
misstina

It's a cube. All the sides are the same size.

s^3 = 729 cm^3

s = cuberoot(729) cm = 9 cm

Thank you very much,

but how did you figure that out? I am still lost. Do I need to do these equations with a scientific calculator?

If you get lucky, and recognize the value, you may not need a calculator.
