On Saterday, server #4 forgets to count her tips. Server 3 gathers up all the tip money and distributes an equal share to each server.

server #1-$5.65
server #2-$6.80
server #3-$4.45
server #4-
server #5-$7.55

Mean-$6.50

1) How much tip money did server 4 receive originally?

2) Suppose the mean is $7.55. How much did server 4 receive originally?
 
If the average of the five values was 6.5, then what was the total value? What was the total of the other four values? So how much was left?

mean = average
x = server#4:
(5.65 + 6.80 + 4.45 + x + 7.55) / 5 = 6.50
