Ok here is the problem:

Money in Sam's Pocket

Sam had 12 dollars in his pocket. He spent $8.29 on a tape for his music collection and $3.45 for an ice cream sundae. Write an equation for how much money Sam has left. Write the possible combinations Sam has left in his pocket.

I get the first part, but can someone please help me with the second part? Thank you!

What was the remaining total?

Thank you.

Eliz.

So he could have twenty-six pennies, or... what other combinations of coins?
