Need help with the following:

A man weighs 5/6 of his weight plus 30 pounds. What is his weight?

Please show the correct equation.

Try thinking it through.

x=his weight. That's what we want.

5/6 his weight would be 5x/6

(5x/6)+30 equals his weight. His weight is x.

\(\displaystyle \frac{5}{6}x+30=x\)

Solve for x.
