I want to confirm my answer for the following problem. Solving equations with variables on both sides.

The problem is: 15 - 2y=3y

my steps are as follows:
15 -2y +2y= 3y + 2y
15 = 5y
then y =3

is this correct? :wink:

Yes. Perfectly answer! :D

You can check by seeing if the equation is balanced:

\(\displaystyle \L 15\,-\,2(3)\,=\,3(3)\)

\(\displaystyle \L 9\,=\,9\)
