Solving Linear Systems - Substitution and Elimination

Can anyone teach me this from scratch? I know substitution is taking one of two equations and plugging it into the other are osme variation of that. Elimination involves some sort of switching to eliminate one of the terms, but I don't really have a strong grasp on either. If someone could tell me how, I'd appreciate it so much.

Solving systems of equations can be messy and frustrating, but you can do it! :D
