I need help with the following in solving this Linear equation in Open Sentece. [Dealing with absolute value] Solve:

In order for a doctor to consider your temperature healthy, it must be within 2.4 degrees of 98.6 degrees. Write an open sentence and solve to find the range of healthy temperatures.

What absolute value expresses the difference between a temperature T and 98.6°?

What inequality expresses "no more than 2.4"?

Eliz.

Can you explain to me?

Can you explain to me step by step how you would go about solving this?

I would start by answering the questions, posted earlier, since they would provide the solution.

* What absolute-value expression displays the distance between the values of the temperature "T" and "98.6"?

* What inequality expresses that this above expression is no more than 2.4?

Please reply showing what you have tried and where you are stuck. Thank you.

Eliz.
