8 members, how many pairs can be formed?

The science club members are to work in pairs on an experiement.

If there are eight members present, in how many ways can the pairs be formed?

I thought it was like 8C2, since there is a pool of 8 members, and 2 need to be picked to be a pair..but the answer is soo big, it's 2520. I dont get it!

I agree with you there. Maybe the answer is a typo. Is that the complete statement of the problem?

8C2 * 6C2 * 4C2 * 2C2 = 2520

4 pairs are formed, not 1.
