In 1998 statistics Canada reported that 36% of Canadian households used the internet. George pulled 100 households in his neighbour hood to see if they use the internet more often that the national average
P= n! / k! (n-k)! p^k x q^n-k
n=100 (sample size)
k=60 (probability we need to check)
p=0.36 (population probability of using the Internet)
q=0.64 (population probability of NOT using the Internet)
So you get
P= 100! / 60! (100-60)! 0.36^60 x 0.64^ 100-60
P= 100! / 60! (40)! 0.36^60 x 0.64^ 40

probability = 0.0000005801399090931313

thnks

I have no idea what you are trying to do with all that!
Please post the exact wording of the question.

sorry!

srry..
In 1998 statistics Canada reported that 36% of Canadian households used the internet. George pulled 100 households in his neighbour hood to see if they use the internet more often that the national average. George found that 60 households in his neighborhood use the internet. What is the probability of this event?
