Consider the experiment of rolling a pair of dice. Suppose that we are interested in the sum of the face values showing on the dice.

What is the probability of obtaining a value of 9 or greater?

I know the answer is 5/18 but I don't know why or how???

Here are all the possible outcomes from tossing a pair of dice.
There are thirty-six of them.
Count the pairs that give the required result.
Its probability is that number divided by 36.
