distance formula: my answer are single or double numbers

good morning everyone, I am having problems with the distance formula. when i do a problem my answer are single or double numbers, and the book answer are square root answer. If anyone can help me, please do so. Thank you

Since you didn't post an exercise, I will guess that you are needing lessons on the topic. Fortunately, there are many great lessons available online:

I have no idea what you mean by "single or double numbers", but, as you will learn when you study the Distance Formula, the computations should indeed involve square roots. In case you're also needing lessons on working with radicals, try here:
