Can someone show me the direction that I should go with this problem.
if f(t)=2tx^2-4t-1 find f(2) and f(-1) really could use the help, and can you explain this to me I will greatly appreciate it.

Re: Algebra

are u sure you wrote correct function???
f(t)=2tx^2-4t-1
this function is about t
what is x come from?
I thing the function would be f(t)=2t^2-4t-1

It's surprising that exercises on function notation have been assigned, when functions clearly haven't yet been covered in class (else you'd be familiar with what this exercise meant).

To learn about evaluating expressions using function notation, please study some of the many great great lessons available online. Once you have studied some lessons (at least two!), please attempt the exercise (in its corrected form, as mentioned in the previous reply). If you get stuck, please reply showing what you have tried.

Thank you! :D
