Squaring is indicated by a raised number, so "the square of 24" would be written as "24[sup:mi7ihrrl]2[/sup:mi7ihrrl]". No "brackets" are involved, so whatever symbols you're looking at probably mean something other than squaring. Also, no instructions are included in your post so, whatever the expression might be, we have no idea what you're supposed to do with it. Sorry! :oops:

Please review the "typing math" articles in the links you saw in the "Read Before Posting" thread you read, review the notation in your book and/or your class notes, and then kindly reply with a clarified statement of the exercise, using the definition(s) from your class and the notation from the link(s).
