An airplane has a total of 152 seats. The number of coach-class is 5 more than 6 times the number of first class
seats. How many of each type of seat are there on the plane?

The most I could figure out was 152= 6x+ 5, but it doesn't work out. Your help would be appreciated!

Re: Word Problems " system of equations" HELP!!

\(\displaystyle \begin{array}{l} f + c = 152 \\ c = 6f + 5 \\ \end{array}\)

How did you define "x"? What did you do with this one equation that "doesn't work out"? What was the rest of your system of equations?

Please be complete. Thank you! :D
