ok... Here's the question... "Each letter of the word SKATER is put on one of six cards. the cards are shuffled and one is chosen at random. find the probability of a vowel."

I am not sure how to set up the equation. For the second one it was, find the probability of a consonant and I had 6P4 divided by 2! to = 22.5. that one was right... I just don't know how to set this one up.

Please help!

SKATER is composed of 2 vowels and 4 consonants for a total sample space of 6 letters. It seems to me drawing one card, you have 2 possibilities of getting a vowel and 4 possibilities of drawing a consonant. That's a probability of 2/6 to draw a vowel and 4/6 to draw a consonant.
This appears to contradict what you have come up with. Have you stated the problem exactly as presented to you? Have you left something out?
