Another one....please help!!


Question:
Find the best predicted value of Y, given that X=1. The summary statistics come from paired sample data.
r=-.89, y=3.57, n=15, and the equation of the regression line is y^=25-8x.

My work:

t=square root of (13*-1.78) / the square root of (1- -.89^2)

Now this is as far as I have gotten...it is not letting me compute the equation.
Please help!!
 
You are having trouble with a formula and a calculation. The formula looks like \(\displaystyle t = \sqrt{n-2} \ r / \sqrt{1-r^2}\). Please note that when you square a negative number, you still get a positive one. Try again. You would lose more than one point if you continue on your present path.
