Help with multiplying out (x + 4)(x + 7): I get x^2 + 28

please help me with this problem. how do you multiply (x+4)(x+7)? i think i know how but i'm not sure.
the answer i came up with was x squared+28. Is this right?

If your answer is a valid match to the original expression, then it will have the save value as the original expression, no matter what value you plug in for the variable. But if x equals, say, 1, then:

. . . . .([1] + 4)([1] + 7) = (5)(8) = 40

. . . . .[1][sup:2kwubwcb]2[/sup:2kwubwcb] + 28 = 1 + 28 = 29

So it would seem unlikely that your solution is correct. Since you did not show your work, we cannot tell where you made your error(s). Please review at least two links from the following listing:

...and then attempt the exercise again. If you remain unsure of your answer, kindly please reply with a clear listing of your work and reasoning so far.
