The perimeter of a rectangle is 204 inches. The length exceeds the width by 84 inches. Find the length and the width.

What is the formula for the perimeter P of a rectangle with length L and width w? (Hint: Copy this from your book, if you don't have this memorized. Then memorize it.)

Since the length is defined in terms of the width, pick a variable for the width.

What expression will then stand for the length?
