i'm having trouble solving part of a probability problem. i'm not sure if i need to use conditional probability or not.
here is the problem:
Hospital patients pay for treatment in different ways. The probability a patient will pay with Medicare is 0.345. The probability he will pay with Medicaid is 0.116. The probability he will pay with another government service is 0.033. Finally, the probability he will pay with his own money is 0.506.
Given that the patient DOES NOT pay with his own money, what is the probability that he pays with Medicare?
I'm not sure how to solve this. I know the probability of Medicare out of all the possibilities, since it is given. How do I find out the probability if I know the patient is not part of the 0.506 probability? Thanks for any help!
