Studies show that 60% of customers who look at televisions will buy one. What is the probability that the first sale of the day will be made to the 4th customer who looks at televisions in the store?

Re: Probability

Hint:

Since it is first sale of the day - there were three previous customers who looked at TVs and did not buy.

What is the chance of that happening?

Re: Probability

Is the correct answer, the 4th person has a 0.24 chance of buying a TV?

Re: Probability

You came up with the answer 0.24 (incorrect) - and you cannot explain how you got that??!!

What is the probability that the first customer looking at the Tv - will not buy the TV - 0.4

What is the probability that the first customer and the second customer looking at the TV - will not buy the TV - 0.4*0.4

What is the probability that the first customer, the second customer and the third customer looking at the TV - will not buy the TV - ??

What is the probability that the first customer, the second customerand the third customer looking at the TV - will not buy the TV - and the fourth customer looking at the TV will buy the TV??
