68% of the consumers were buying fewer products than before, 24% were buying the same number of products, and 8% were buying more products. Furthermore, in a trend toward purchasing less-expensive brands, 88% indicated that they had changed the brands they purchased. Suppose the following complete set of results were reported.

Is this set up 272/400 = 0.6800 or 10/48 = 0.2083 or 10/400 = 0.0250?

I want to use 272/400 because the question doesn't state whether or not the subjects bought the same brand or changed brands, it just states randomly chosen consumer who purchased fewer products. So total persons who bought the same brand and changed brand and fewer is 272 people.

or 10/48 = 0.2083 <<< Why do you think this is correct? This is only persons who bought the same product but fewer and doesn't include those who bought a different brand.

or 10/400 = 0.0250 <<< Why do you think this is correct?? I don't think this is correct based upon reasons above.
