help with functions: y = 3 / 4 * x

trying to help my son out with functions. Well its been awhile for me, but here goes. He has a homework problem on linear equations. Example is

y=3/4*x (I cant write it out the way it looks on the page but its 3 over 4 with x beside it. I appreciate any help

What is the question though?

It will be better if he communicates with us directly - showing his work and indicating exactly where he is stuck. Then we would know where to begin to help him.

And WHY are you calling that a "function"?
