The perimeter of a rectangular playground area is 308 feet. If the length of the playground is 34 feet more than twice the width, find the length and width of the playground. construct an algebraic equation with a variable and solve using
algebra steps. Stuck..Help

Re: Algebra

That's pretty basic stuff Garry: WHY are you stuck?

If width = w, then length = 2w + 34 : understand?
Carry on...

Given that the perimeter of a rectangular playground area is 308 feet.
Let w be the width and l be the length of playground
also, given that the length of the playground is 34 feet more than twice the width.
Therefore
l = 34 + 2w
we know that, the perimeter of a rectangular playground = 2(l + w)
therefore by puting the values of l and w in above equation we will get the perimeter of the rectangular playground.
