I,m not sure how to approach this problem.
If 85% of all people have brown eyes and 6 people are selected at random, find the probability that at least 1 of them has brown eyes? I know the answer is 0.9999886 but not sure how to do the problem. Thanks for your help.

Find the probability that none of those have brown eyes.

1-.1416666667=.858334

The first person will not have brown eyes = 0.15

The next person also (1+2) will not have brown eyes = 0.15 * 0.15 = (0.15)[sup:b2nvxnr2]2[/sup:b2nvxnr2]

The next person also (1+2+3) will not have brown eyes = (0.15)[sup:b2nvxnr2]2[/sup:b2nvxnr2] * 0.15 = (0.15)[sup:b2nvxnr2]3[/sup:b2nvxnr2]

The next person also (1+2+3+4) will not have brown eyes = (0.15)[sup:b2nvxnr2]3[/sup:b2nvxnr2] * 0.15 = (0.15)[sup:b2nvxnr2]4[/sup:b2nvxnr2]

.... and so on...
 
so, 0.15^6=1.1390625
1- 1.1390625= -.390625
Am I on the right track?
I'm confused
