Equation for finding percent confidence interval?

I am working with such a huge set of data that I don't really know how to type concise information in here...

The question I am working on is:
Assuming all else remained the same, what percent confidence interval would be half the width of the 97% confidence interval?

Is there some sort of equation I can use to figure out the percent confidence interval? We have been taught to find the C.I. normally by just typing the data into our calculators, and it simply spits out and answer for us. I don't know exactly how to type in equations properly, so I will do my best to write it here, but one equation I do have is as follows:

mean +/- t sub alpha /2[standard deviation/(square root of n)] = (1-alpha) * 100% confidence interval for mu.

I hope that wasn't too weird to understand...! Only three more days of this class and I will never have to ask again!
 
A confidence interval is above all, an interval. Start with your formulas to realize what the length of a confidence interval must be.
