Hi I need help in some basic probability question

I'm trying to solve some of my stats question, and I'm not sure about some of my answers, and have a few questions. Please help and explain.Thank you :D


1. Can -0.29(negative) be a probability? My answer is no.

2. There are 200 women, 10 of them smoke.
There are 150 men,14 of them smoke.
What is the probability the selected person is women or a smoker.

My answer is: 107/175

3. 60% of the tire are produced in Rochester,and 2% have slight blemish.
40% of the tire are produced in Albany, and 14% have slight blemish.
What is the probability that the tire purchase is blemish and from Buffalo?

My answer is:0.012 (using multiplication rule)

4. 3 movies of 19movies. How many different list of 3 movies can you have?

5. 0.74 are ladies.
0.40 of the ladies smoke.
0.5 of the class smoke.
the probability that the selected student is a man and smk.

6. A and B are mutually exclusive.
If P(A)=0.1 and P(B)=0.6
What is P(A or B) ?

What type of "lists" are you talking about?

Do you consider the list 4, 17, 5 to be the same or different than the list 4, 5, 17 ?

 
the question is actually asking there are 19 movies, and how many sets of 3 movies combination you can get from the 19 movies.Thanks :)

There is 0% chance the tire is from Buffalo since 100% of the tires come from Rochester or Albany.

The answer is suggested in the question. Note the word “combinations.” This is a “combination of 19 things taken 3 at a time.”

19!/[(19-3)!(3!)]

Look for the “nCr” button on your calculator.

6. A and B are mutually exclusive.
If P(A)=0.1 and P(B)=0.6
What is P(A or B) ?

Since they are mutually exclusive, just add the probabilities together.
 
What is the probability that a purchased tire is both from Rochester and blemished?

There is a 60% chance it is from Rochester, and of those, 2% are blemished:

(.6)(.02) = .012 (or 1.2%)
