The U.S. House of Representatives has 435 members. If an appropriations bill passes the House with 91 more members voting in favor than against, how many voted in favor and how many voted against?

in favor
1______. members
against
2______. members

It was my believe that 218 votes are needed to approve a bill. How do I get started?

Anyone have and idea? I thought the vote needed to pass the house was 218. Am I wrong?

Thats just great, no one was able to help me.

Here is the solution for those who might have a similar problem.

x= number of voters who disapproved
So, x+ ( x+91 )= 435
2x+91=435
-91=-91
2x=344
2= 344/2
X= 172
So 172 disapproved and 172 + 91 approved.

Do you realise that at this site, help is provided by volunteers (which could be you!);
no one waits around here for problems to be posted; most of us have a day job :idea:
