\(\displaystyle 5x-9y \ = \ 47 \ \implies \ 5x-9y-47 \ = \ 0\)

\(\displaystyle 2x+7y \ = \ -13 \ \implies \ 2x+7y+13 \ = \ 0\)

\(\displaystyle Ergo, \ (5x-9y-47)(2x+7y+13) \ = \ 0*0 \ = \ 0\)

\(\displaystyle 10x^{2}+17xy-29x-63y^{2}-446y-611 \ = \ 0\)

\(\displaystyle The \ last \ equation \ plots \ to \ two \ intersecting \ lines: \ y \ = \ \frac{5x-47}{9} \ and \ y \ = \ \frac{-2x-13}{7}\)

\(\displaystyle Note: \ If \ you \ have \ a \ program \ that \ will \ plot \ implicit \ plots, \ Maple \ for \ one, \ implicit \ plot \ the\)

\(\displaystyle last \ equation \ and \ you \ will \ get \ the \ two \ intersecting \ lines.\)
