30 students: men=15 (5 are athletes), 10 of the women are athletes. is gender independent of athletic status? test at alpha=.05 ...I know how to do the test statistic but I don't see how I have enough information to do it...can anyone help?

Hi, nice to meet you,

we could say : prob. of being female knowing athletic is : p(F|A)=10/15=2/3
p(M|A)=5/15=1/3 ?

so if a person is athletic, it has more chance of being a female (in this probe).

But I don't know what the alpha is ?

bye.
